Historical, it can be discovered through sites and monuments: prestigious abbeys including the Abbeys for Ladies and Men in Caen, medieval fortresses and Renaissance châteaux, manors in the Pays d'Auge and fortified farms in the Bessin, churches, cathedrals and basilicas such as the one of Lisieux or even unmissable museums including the Bayeux Tapestry, the Caen Memorial, the Landing Museum in Arromanches and of course the historic area of the Battle of Normandy which brings together all the sites and places of memory telling the story of freedom finally found one morning in June 1944.

Lovers of sports and outdoor activities are not left out: the Calvados golf courses offer high quality courses in privileged sites; the 120 kms of coastline, rivers and lakes offer boating, wind sports, sliding or whitewater ...) finally, the green grasslands from spring to winter make Calvados a real breeding ground for horses: here we find the greatest concentration of stud farms per hectare (approximately 1 every 4 km²). In the heart of the green hills or along the dunes, by the rivers or from the top of the cliffs, unlimited hiking is practiced here and in all its forms: on foot, on horseback, by bike or by mountain bike.
